第二次世界大戦で海軍にいた86歳になる私の父は、大津市いじめ自殺ニュースをみて、となりにいた孫に「人間は誰もみていない時にどれだけ正しい事ができるかが大切なんだ、それが日本人だぞ」と。「はい！」といつになく真剣に返事をする息子の姿をみて、私は父への感謝の気持ちでいっぱいになった。
