Nobel Peace Prize does not prevent wars at all. Even South Korean president Kim was awarded Nobel Peace Prize in 2000. However, two Koreas seem to be still either on the verge of or on the brink of killing each other at any time. Nobel Peace Prize should be given to anyone only when eternal peace has been achieved.
Just look at the list of "List of Nobel Peace Prize laureates" and find out that only those in the western hemisphere had received it until Lê Đức Thọ a North Vietnamese revolutionary, general, diplomat, and politician was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize jointly with United States Secretary of State Henry Kissinger in 1973 although he declined it. It sounds like none in Asia had been peaceful until 1973. Actually the first Asian Nobel Peace Price laureate is Prime Minister Eisaku Sato of Japan who received it in 1974 for his dubious work of introducing the Three Non-Nuclear Principles on 11 December 1967, which means non-production, non-possession, and non-introduction of nuclear weapons.
Very surprised to know that even Cordell Hull who gave Japan an ultimatum (so-called Hull note, a trick), so that Japan had to enter the war against the United States of America, received "Nobel Peace Prize" in 1945.
