Prime Minister Noda indicated last night that Japan would demand the Chinese government to compensate Japan and Japanese-owned companies for the damages caused by Chinese mobs during anti-Japan protests.
Director General of Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called up Minister Han Zhiqiang of the Chinese Embassy in Tokyo and strongly protested on the phone over the damages inflicted upon the Embassy of Japan and others, and the intrusion of Chinese maritime surveillance ships into the Japanese territorial waters.
