According to The Sankei Shinbun, Professor Zhu Jianrong of Toyo Gaguen University (Japanese university) who is considered modest in his political thinking has been arrested on the suspicion of spying as he often publicly discussed Senkaku islands.
Below is a video in which Professor Zhu Jianrong of Toyo Gaguen University discusses realities in China at the press conference held on December 6, 2012.
China has arrested more than 100 Chinese scholars, journalists, etc. for disclosure of sensitive information (information China claims to be sensitive) by September 15 this year.
Those arrests are believed to be closely related to the policy China has recently outlined to tightly control information by purging anyone who leaks information to Japan sharing the same values (human rights, etc.) with the Western nations. It is said that those intellectuals are considered obstructive to the Xi Jinping regime.
Senior executives of the Communist Party lament that Xi Jinping will not gain any support from people even if he tries to revive the Mao Zedong regime.
