Today I visited US Navy Yokosuka base and participated in 19th annual CFAY Spring Festival. Below you will find some of the photos taken today to give you an idea of the annual event. It is a regret that we have no cherry blossom blooming in the Kanto area yet due to the weather colder than usual or the winter started late. It was a beautiful day today although it was a bit cold. This annual event has been well known among the locals for sometime. So, what usually happens is a huge crowd and mile-long lines of visitors waiting to enter the US naval base. By the time I reached the security post, I felt so exhausted and hungry.
After I was thoroughly checked, I ran for vendor booths but what I found again was long lines of people waiting to buy foods and drinks. I spent at least one hour to enter the base and 30 minutes to buy my smoked Turkey leg, Officers Club Burger, and a drink.
