I received "The Wartime Journals of Charles A. Lindbergh" from a used bookstore, U.S.A today just in time for the 70th anniversary of "Pearl Harbor".
In his journal, he states as follows:
It is alarmingly possible that World War II marks the beginning of our Western Civilization's breakdown, as it already marks the breakdown of the greatest empire ever built by man. Certainly our civilization's survival depends upon meeting the challenges that tower before us with unprecedented magnitude in almost every field of modern life.
The above is an excerpt from Introduction of his book "The Wartime Journals of Charles A. Lindbergh" published in 1970.
