Ex-Prime Minister Hatoyama brags about his contribution to the planned Futenma relocation

At a gathering in Tokyo on December 5, ex-Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama stated that while led by the Office of Prime Minister, we must continue to look for the best possible relocation site for U.S. Futenma Marine Corps Base other than Henoko, Okinawa Prefecture.

Hatoyama stressed "The Government of the United States never thinks I have torn up Japan-U.S. relations because I received a letter from President Obama soon after my resignation, saying that he appreciates my efforts in trying to solve a thorny Futenma relocation issue."
