Why 7 Samurais were executed on December 23?

7 Japanese falsely accused and convicted of war crimes were intentionally executed on December 23, 1948 (the Crown Prince Akihito born on December 23, 1933, now HIs Majesty the Emperor of Japan), so as to remind Japan and her people that Japan had committed war crimes every year when Japan celebrates birthday of HIs Majesty the Emperor of Japan Akihito on Dec. 23.

Execution of 7 Japanese on December 23 is said to have been part of war guilt information program subtly planned and implemented by General Douglas MacArthur.
