Japan Defeat S. Korea in Asia Women's Qualifier for 2012 London Olympics

Nadeshiko Japan won the game 2-1 in Asia Women's Qualifier for 2012 London Olympics held tonight at Jinan, the capital of Shandong, China. Nadeshiko Japan became world champion after beating U.S. team in a penalty shootout in the final match of the FIFA Women's World Cup on July 19.

Jinan is well known both in Japan and China for Jinan incident that occurred on May 3, 1928. In the incident, 400 Japanese residents were victimized by looting, beating, killing, etc.  An official telegram sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan in those days describes the brutal killings of the Japanese nationals by Chinese.  Autopsies of those killed show "removal of abdominal viscera, insertion of wooden sticks into the female genital, etc.
