South Korea was a part of Japan, meaning no question that South Koreans fought as Japanese soldiers as they were Japanese citizens. Koreans who experienced 1,000 years of oppression by China were so willing to become Japanese and were highly motivated to fight for Japan since Japan was stronger than China and Russia. Koreans fought as Mongolian soldiers (a few Mongolian commanders and many Korean soldiers) when Mongolia tried to invade Japan. South Koreans executed atrocities in Vietnam during Vietnam war.
