A Japanese newspaper reports that Propaganda Department of the Communist Party of China sent out a notice requesting that Chinese domestic media refrain from reporting on the Chinese bullet train accident at their own discretion. Railway Ministry spokesman said late last night that death toll is 35 but not 43, modifying a report made by State-run Xinhua News Agency, which reported 8 more deaths in addition to the 35 dead earlier reported.
One TV news hinted that they may not look into a true cause of the accident and may resume bullet train operations sooner than most of the people think. TV news even said that there is a rumor saying Chinese authorities are burying the wrecked trains at crash site. The fact that no foreign reporters have been allowed to come close to the site suggests that they are trying to conceal something down there.
